Feels Like July are a Bristol-based duo that make for a match made in heaven, built around real-life couple Jodie Mellor and Charlie T Smith. With Charlie growing up in rural France, and Jodie in Gloucestershire, their paths crossed at Bristol BIMM, where their shared love of songwriting quickly turned into something special: effortless writing sessions, familiar melodies and vocals so warm they seem to melt into one.

 

Their debut single Windows Down introduced the duo’s signature sound, nostalgic, romantic and sun-soaked, with the feeling of an early-2000s film where the guy finally gets the girl. After 7 years and countless shows, the duo spend their time writing, releasing music and playing weddings as not only a pair, but a 4 piece band with friends from uni, Cyril and Fin. 

 

At the heart of every show is the duo’s natural connection, two voices weaving together over acoustic guitar, flute, looped textures and rhythm. For larger, evening receptions the duo transforms into a full live band (electric guitar, bass, drums & synth) capable of bringing festival-level energy to the dance floor.

 

Known for their authentic sound and electric stage presence, Feels Like July specialise in weddings for couples who truly love music, the kind who want their celebration to feel more like the gig of the year than a traditional function. Their approach is refreshingly real: no backing tracks, no cheesy medleys (ABBA doesn’t count right?), just musicians playing great songs together on stage.
